Meet Kaelin Hooper, Lead Instructor

Learn with a Roblox expert 🎓

Kaelin wrote his first line of code in Roblox when he was just 10 years old. That magical moment inspired him to become a software engineer. He went on to graduate with a B.S. in Computer Science from UT, work at Microsoft, and lead a team of 30 engineers and designers. Now, he's sharing his passion for Roblox to inspire the next generation of game designers, engineers, and artists.

Build fun projects 🔧

Bloom works with real game designers and developers to create a fun, hands-on projects for students to build. There's a new project every month.

Build a Rocket

Build a working rocket in Roblox Studio that you can shoot into the sky or ride on yourself. Learn how to use BodyMovers and Lua scripting to get a rocket to launch, follow a target, create jet flames, and a roaring sound to go with it. By the end of the project, you'll design, build, and launch your own rocket.

Build a House

Build your dream mansion, log cabin, or tiny home using Roblox Studio. Master the basics of modeling the environment using bricks, meshes, and terrain generation tools. Use advanced plugins and scripting to create special brick arrangements, dynamic-lighting, and functioning parts like doors and shades.

Rohan T, School Expert, & Software Engineer at Roblox
Before becoming a software engineer building Roblox, Rohan graduated UT Austin with degrees in Electrical and Computer Engineering and worked as a software engineer at Microsoft on the OneDrive team. He's based in San Francisco, California and currently works on the Roblox Studio team.

Code a particle simulator with P5.js

Build a particle simulator in the browser using the P5.js library. Learn enough Javascript and basic 2D physics to create a world of particles floating around on the screen in front of you. Using mouse and key inputs from the user, we'll implement the ability to push particles around. With these tools you can build entire in-browser video games that are just a link away from playing.
